KAREEM JACKSON FOUNDATION HIGHLIGHTS
Kareem Jackson Foundation Awarded Social Justice Grant by NFL Foundation

On Monday, the Kareem Jackson Foundation was awarded a
$5,000 grant from the NFL Foundation as part of the NFL’s initiative to help
players get more involved in social causes within their community. The grant
funding will support the Kareem Jackson Foundation’s outreach programs directed
toward low-income youth in Houston who are battling pediatric cancer.

Jackson, fresh off of his selection as the NFLPA’s Week 8 Community
MVP, has been extremely active in the community over the past several months.
During the summer, Jackson held his inaugural Christmas in July program, where
he visited pediatric cancer patients at Texas Children’s Hospital. He also launched
his Pretty in Pink program in honor of women who have battled breast cancer and
held his second annual Dinner for a Difference fundraising event. The grant
will allow Jackson and his Foundation to continue impacting the lives of
children with cancer through once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

The NFL Foundation’s Social Justice Grant program provides
grant funding to nonprofit organizations whose missions are focused around
social justice causes and have been financially supported by an NFL Player.
According to the NFL Foundation’s website, the grants are designed to reduce
barriers to opportunity through a focus on education, criminal justice reform,
poverty, racial equality, and many other causes.

Many of these children who have benefitted from Jackson’s
outreach live in inner-city communities, where resources and opportunities are
limited. The NFL Foundation’s Social Justice grant will ensure that Jackson
continues to play a major role in improving these patients’ quality of life.
