HOUSTON (MAY 21, 2019) – On Monday evening, Houston Texans
Inside Linebacker Benardrick McKinney hosted Tee Up with Texans at Topgolf
Houston-Katy to benefit the Kareem Jackson Foundation and its community
outreach programs.
|
McKinney and
his Texans teammates, including Jonathan Joseph, Whitney Mercilus, Dylan Cole,
Brennan Scarlett and Zach Cunningham, traded in their helmets and uniforms for
clubs and tees for an evening full of point-scoring golf games with supporters
of the foundation. The evening also featured upscale bar food and drinks as
well as exciting live and silent auctions.
|
During the
event, the Kareem Jackson Foundation surprised special guests from the ‘Pretty
in Pink’ program that took place last year at the Four Seasons in Houston. These
guests of honor were recognized for their courage in battling and overcoming
breast cancer.
|
The mission
of assisting women who are battling or have overcome breast cancer is a very personal
cause for Jackson, as his own mother beat the disease twice. The Kareem Jackson
Foundation has provided Jackson with the platform to create meaningful,
impactful assistance for these women.
|
Proceeds
from ‘Tee Up with Texans’ will support the ‘Pretty in Pink’ program later this
year in Houston.
